I’d love to share with you a few images from a lovely family day out last weekend. We headed to Lock Muick, near Ballater, the heart of the Cairngorms.. This is a walk we have been meaning to do for several years. However as it is a 8 mile round trip we had to wait until all the boys could manage it without us having to carry them round!
We picked a beautiful spring day to tackle it, and armed with Mars Bars and Hot Chocolate we walked our little socks off. We saw many stags roaming the hillside, an arctic hare, frogs galore, pheasants and heard strange bird calls …grouse?? It is amazing how much wildlife there is just an hours drive from home. And the countryside was just stunning!
Enjoy the images! And if you are ever up for a beautiful walk in rural Aberdeenshire, in the lee of brooding Lochnagar, then I would thoroughly recommend this as a fantastic day out.
I can’t wait to go back when it is a little warmer and be able to paddle in the Loch!
